Vicky Edwards is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who enjoys working with individuals to increase their understanding of behaviour in the workplace. Her focus is in the assessment of individuals during selection to achieve a better candidate/job fit, and in the development of interpersonal and leadership skills for individuals and teams looking to be the best they can and to make a positive impact.
Vicky’s career started in the legal sector, where she worked for 20 years in the area of commercial law, latterly for Liverpool firm, Bermans. During her time in the legal sector, Vicky managed a commercial recoveries team and gained a reputation amongst clients for her customer focus, transparent and flexible service to deliver pragmatic and timely solutions. Vicky expanded the types of specialist collection services offered by Bermans and her curiosity and desire to learn new skills led her to working as operations manager for an outsourced credit management company.
An interest in understanding why people behave the way that they do led Vicky to studying part time for a psychology degree and then a full time masters to specialise in occupational psychology thereby allowing her career change.
Whilst working as a consultant psychologist in Manchester based Stuart Robertson & Associates Ltd, Vicky was centrally involved in the development of various selection tools. This included an on-line values and personality based screening tool for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, a teleworking guidance measure for the Valuation Office Agency, and a situational judgment measure for a large soft drinks distributor. Vicky also gained experience in developing bespoke 360 appraisal systems for various local authorities, and in facilitating feedback.
Vicky co-designed and delivered a 3-day leadership development training programme for North Wales Police, so far attended by over 250 officers and staff. She has also regularly delivered SR&A’s training in BPS Test Use: Occupational, Ability and supported training in Personality using Quintax® Personality Questionnaire.
Vicky is experienced in designing exercises for assessment and development centres, as well as managing and facilitating both. She supports clients with use of appropriate psychometric tests and in interpreting results. In this context Vicky has worked for the Independent Police Complaints Commission, Valuation Office Agency, Ministry of Defence and Wulvern Housing Association. She now works as an independent consultant and associate for selected organisations.
Qualifications and training
